What We Believe

Good Samaritan is endeavoring to be a 21st Century Apostolic Church; a place of timeless truth in a culture that is constantly changing.  We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and that it is vital and relevant to the way we live our lives.

We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion. That the Church must be a place of healing and restoration for lives being destroyed by the consequences of sin.

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:21-23 ). He is the creator of Heaven, Earth, and every living soul. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption and reconciliation, and as the Holy Spirit in our salvation experience, as the power of God in us.

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin (Mat 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12). Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38).

We believe also in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, like that which was experienced by the first Church in the book of Acts (Acts 2:4; 10:44-48; 11:14-18; 19:1-7).

We also believe in the literal return of Jesus as prophesied in the Bible. We believe that just as Jesus resurrected from the grave, we shall also rise up at the catching away of the Saints with the sounding of trump of God and we shall ever be with the Lord in Heaven (1 Thessalonians 4:14-18; Matthew 24:29-3; James 5:7-8).

We believe that Jesus is still calling people into a relationship with Himself today and whosoever will come unto Him will find rest for their souls. (Matthew 11:28-30).
